Bio
Rune Factory is a great series to try out if you want some of the things Story of Seasons doesn't have and a major quest to focus on. The fourth game in the series is especially good. There are even traces of the older Harvest Moon games in it, since it started out as a spin-off before becoming its own thing.
Rune Factory stands out because not only does the main character have a set personality, but the game also puts less emphasis on farming and more on exploring dungeons and building up characters. Even though the main way to make money might still be to collect crops, players will be helped by the steady flow of new tools that can be used and then sold for a lot of money.
In other farming games, romancing characters is easy. But in Rune Factory 4, it can be hard, so players have to be sure who they want to pursue by setting up certain date events that only happen at certain times. One thing that's too bad is that same-sex dating is only available in Rune Factory 5. This game has some new features that are fun to play with, but it's still not as good as Rune Factory 4.
No matter which chapter is chosen, the focus on improving magic and weapon skills with a variety of options is a fun way to add value to the simple combat system. On top of that, the main quest keeps getting harder as players finish more of it. There is a lot of room for experimentation in Slope Game, even if the newest ones still have a few caveats. One can become a bruiser who uses heavy weapons or stay at a distance and use a variety of spells. Since making is the only way for a player to get new gear, which is the main way to improve their character, they need to know what they want and have backup plans in case they can't find a new recipe for their main build for a while.
